Talbingo and Party English
FromTalbingo to Canberra.
We are leaving this beautiful caravan park “Lake Talbingo “ with sadness and reluctant.
The owners James & Diana are real host and take care of there costumers as family with lots of good advice and help to get you around the Snowy’s and most of all to show you spots you want find on any of the tourist maps or info leaflets. So just before we drove off in the early morning we made some pics together for our albums.
The drive on this Friday morning was a easy one so we had time to have an iced coffee along the road and drove into very familiar area for Marja , Els and me when we hit Yass.
The campsite we had pre booked is at Sutton just a couple of clicks away from the end of Northbourne ave in Canberra. We got there at about 4.30 and much to our surprise we discovered that Chris and Jeanne were there as well and later on David Moore to. So before we knew it everyone was lending us a hand with building up the annex and food was shared together with drinks David brewed himself, all was very nice and good. And a big surprise for Marja to meet up with them so soon.
Saturday morning we took Marja and Carl to Bungendore for an iced coffee pancakes and her birthday present to buy. It was a big painting of Elvis which we bought for her .
She was very happy with it and after visiting some of the locale shops we decided to head back for the camping where we suppose to meet up with the gang from yesterday to go to John’s for coffee and cake ( how Dutch ) . when driving out I thought it would be a good plan to put first some juice in the car, so we drove back. At the Caltex in the middle of the town I looked in the side mirror to be at the right pump and just as I stopped a big truck who was parked in the parking lot across from us started to back out without looking and hit the front of the car bending the bulbar smashing the front right hand headlight. When I got out the guy asked, how long where you parked there? When I asked for his insurance he said he had none. Long story short, police had to come, cctv secured etc.
Even dough we got a bit tight in time after this incident we arrived on time at the campsite to make it on time to John’s, were Marja got a very big surprise party with lots of relatives and nice food and drinks till late at night. It was fun watching this develop and to see her glow. Late that night we got back to the van, where all of us slept like baby’s.
Sunday we took it easy with a slow start but went to visit some area’s she could have memory’s from.
This we repeated all week until we left Canberra on Sunday morning to head for Orange and on the way up there we drove past lake George and went into Goulburn for a short stopover. The road from there to Oberon was a bit of a surprise to me with heavy climbs and lots of small roads with funny cornersbut we got to Orange on time to rest our heads in a cool night.
From this spot I like to thank all the family and the ones who organized the party and our lovely stay in Canberra , many thanks for everything.
So dear follower’s, till the next story.
By the way; the sore leg of Els is almost healed, the car is fixed again and paid for.
